In Awe of Vinegar

71 posts ago, I wrote about the value of vinegar. Six months ago, I bought a gallon of vinegar. This week, I finally used up the container. I'm a fanatic when it comes to spraying down my counters and used the equivalent of 20 bottles of Windex.

Vinegar holds so many lessons on value. Vinegar is a commodity. Brand X vinegar is really the same as Brand Y vinegar. Some companies add value to vinegar by creating a story around it - herb infused vinegar, pure vinegar, glacial vinegar. But, what they charge is many times the increase in value.

The neat thing about vinegar is that it is so easy for us to add our own value to it. You can make a wicked salad dressing, household cleaner, pickling juice. You name it.

So, to toast vinegar, here's one more use: spray some vinegar on your clothes before putting them in the dryer. They will come out with fewer wrinkles.
