Pump Bottles

Pump bottles are a simple invention that can bring us a lot of value. Each pump delivers an equal volume of the liquid from the bottle.

Many companies have taken advantage of this feature in reducing operations costs. Restaurants such as McDonald's offer condiments through pump bottles. Starbucks dispenses their flavor shots through pumps. Many bars also have volume controlling devices to prevent waste.

Where can we employ pumps in our homes? Wherever we turn a bottle upside down and use an arbitrary amount. Dish soap, hand soap, hair products, condiments, cleaners are all pump-able. It might not be possible to obtain these in pumps, but this should be a factor in our purchases.

A shampoo bottle in a pump dispenser can last two to three times longer than one that allows you to glob it in your hand. The result is that you get the same usage of the product but use less of it. And that means more value.
