One Easy Thing To Do This Week

Thrift isn't an overnight condition. You have to get there, slowly. Don't jump into it. Commit to doing one small thing this week that will end up bringing big savings in the long run. Think of the huge wealth you'll accrue. Here are some quick examples. Pick one that's easy and you can do now.

This week (pick one)

- Take that trunk off the roof of your SUV. It's empty anyways, so why are you paying $5 per tank of gas to keep it up there?

- Install three compact fluorescent. Just three. It'll take you 3 minutes and save you around $15 this year and every year for the next five years.

- Change the filter in your furnace. This takes about two minutes. Pop out the old one, throw it out, and pop in the new one. The savings in gas/oil and the improvement in your quality of life could be significant.

- Top up your gas tank when the prices are on the low side, not when the low fuel light turns on.

It just takes one of these to make you feel like you're improving your life, taking charge of savings, and getting more value out of the time, energy, and money you spend.
