The Word Thrift

Most people think of moth ball-smelling used clothing stores like the Salvation Army when they hear the word "thrift." They think of cheap people who use only one piece of toilet paper at a time or wear old suits because of an aversion to spending money.

This association is poisonous. No one wants to be perceived this and most will stop thinking about saving money because of this link.

Being thrift is not about being cheap. We need to see thrift as getting the most out of everything.

People use the term carpe diem as getting the most out of every moment. Why should we think any differently towards money? Afterall, isn't it a product of the time we spent earning it?

Live life to the fullest by getting the most out of the things we spend our money and time on.
